Save money on upcoming postage increases by carefully targeting your mailings.
Now using GeoSelector to select your list is more important than ever.
First class postage for one and two ounce letters and postcards will increase one cent each to 42 cents, 59 cents and 27 cents respectively, effective May 12, 2008, according to the U.S. Postal Service. Rates for Standard Mail, Periodicals, Package Services and Special Services will go up too.
Under the new Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act that took effect in late 2006 the Postal Service is allowed to raise rates with 45-days notice as long as the increases are within the rate of inflation for the previous 12 months. The inflation rate through January this year was calculated at 2.9 percent.
Under the Act, postage rates can be adjusted annually each May. Postal officials have said they plan to give 90 days notice of future changes.
Using our GeoSelector product will allow you to target your market much more precisely, allowing you to reduce your mailing quantities and save on postage. Not only can you narrow your list by demographic, lifestyle and behavioral selects, but you can draw a polygon on the interactive map target the exact trade area you wish to mail to – and save postage by not mailing outside that area, or to the wrong prospects.
In the meantime, you should make an effort to mail before the May 12 postage increase. And as an EXTRA incentive to order now, use coupon code SAVE5 at checkout to save 5% on your list purchase. At DirectMail.com, we're here to help you succeed. (Coupon expires May 12, 2008)
