A Small Business Perspective on how to compete in the emerging marketplace to be held Sunday, May 17, 2009
This one day seminar will be held from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm at the Washington, DC Convention Center.
Session One: Direct Mail---The Core of Small Business Marketing
12:00-1:15 p.m.
Whether your business serves a local or global community, direct mail is a powerful vehicle for acquiring new customers and retaining your best customers. Telephone book Yellow Pages and email blasts can’t deliver as personal a message as direct mail can; because direct mail is delivered straight to your customer’s mailbox. Learn from marketing experts how direct mail can enhance your marketing campaigns, drive customers to your ecommerce website, and keep loyal customers coming back for more.
Cat Moriarty, Advertising Specialist and Editor of “Deliver” Magazine United States Postal Service
Session Two: E-Commerce Shipping Solutions for Domestic and International Fulfillment
1:30-3:30 p.m.
During this session, you will learn how online tools make it easy to ship documents and packages without ever leaving your home or office. Audience members will learn about web-based tools to research potential markets, handle online orders and ship goods, nationally and internationally. USPS Global Marketing Specialists will provide guidance to ensure that everyone comes away with the knowledge and skills needed to turn their small business into a multinational online merchant. In addition, we will discuss several shipping and labeling services available to you.
Session Three: Global Shipping 101—A Primer for Small Business
3:45-4:30 p.m.
Today’s economy calls for small businesses to look overseas for new growth opportunities.
